COVID-19: Weld County case, testing and outbreak data for the week of Aug. 10

Aug. 11—Weld County officials reported a total of 97,165 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began as of Tuesday, an increase of 516 from a week ago.

The county's one-week average positive test rate is 9.3%, down from 10.85% last week. The Greeley area has the lowest rate in the county, 6.91%. Southwest Weld now has the highest rate in the county, 19.95%.

The seven-day total COVID-19 hospitalization rate is 4.56 per 100,000 residents, down from 6.39 a week ago.

About 5.5% of patients in regional hospitals are COVID-19 patients, up from 5% the week prior.

The state health department reported 11 active outbreaks this week in Weld County:

8. Good Samaritan Society Water Valley Senior Living Resort. Outbreak reported June 1.

9. MeadowView of Greeley. Outbreak reported May 25.

10. The Center at CenterPlace. Outbreak reported July 24.

11. Fairacres Manor. Outbreak reported May 5.

The county reported 671 deaths due to COVID-19, an increase of five from the week prior. The state reported 719 deaths among Weld residents who had the virus, unchanged from last week. The state also reported no new deaths due to COVID-19 in Weld, leaving the total at 605.

The state's one-week average positivity rate is 7.68%, according to state data. Mayo Clinic reports the national positivity rate is 17.4%.

Weld County reported 63.5% of the eligible population, including children 6 months and older, have been vaccinated with at least one dose as of Aug. 5. About 58.7% have been fully vaccinated. A total of 97,735 additional doses have been administered.

The state reports 75.16% of the 5-and-up population have been fully immunized. A total of 2,183,943 people have received additional doses.
