Ontario County Public Health: 17 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 17 new community-acquired cases of COVID-19 on Feb. 23, but no new deaths.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,691 Ontario County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 100 people have died.

Many of the new cases are related household contacts, college students, and a few community cases.

There are 202 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 305 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 507 in the isolation and quarantine category.

There are 25 people in the hospital, which is down from 27 hospitalizations over the weekend.

With 15 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, 5,396 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic. There were 751 negative tests.
