Colorado Springs police arrest domestic violence suspect with help from K-9

Apr. 9—The Colorado Springs Police Department with the assistance of a K-9 unit arrested a man suspected of domestic violence outside a Walmart Tuesday.

The CSPD said that officers found a vehicle belonging to Eric Dixon, 45, of Colorado Springs outside a Walmart in East Colorado Springs Tuesday morning. Dixon had an active warrant for domestic violence felony menacing and was reported to be armed, the CSPD said.

Officers saw Dixon and an alleged victim inside shopping, then called in assistance from other teams.

The officers, with the help of K-9 Milo, arrested Dixon after a short chase. According to the CSPD, Dixon was carrying a holstered handgun and an extra magazine.

Dixon was medically cleared at a local hospital, then booked into the El Paso County Jail, according to the police department.
