Court date set for Davenport man accused of kidnapping, sexual abuse

Quad City Times - 2/12/2021

Feb. 12—A court date has been set for a Davenport man accused of kidnapping and sexual abuse.

Adrian Israel Castillo, 39, of Davenport, was arrested on one count of kidnapping and one count of sexual abuse Wednesday afternoon.

His next court appearance has been set for 8:30 a.m.Feb. 15, with a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m.Feb. 19, according to court documents. The preliminary hearing will take place over Zoom.

Castillo allegedly took the victim to Credit Island Park in Davenport on Feb. 6, without the victim's consent. He reportedly threatened the victim with a dangerous weapon and sexually abused the victim while continuing to display the weapon.

The victim is not being identified, Davenport Police Department said in a news release Thursday.

Both charges are class B felonies that carry a prison sentence of 25 years. Both are considered forcible felonies, meaning if Castillo is proven guilty he would have to serve 70% of each sentence, or 17.5 years, before he would be eligible for parole.

Castillo is currently being held at the Scott County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond, court documents state.

Davenport Police Department ask anyone with information to call them at 563-326-6125 or submit a tip online.
