Palmetto man charged with molesting a child

Jul. 2--PALMETTO -- A 54-year-old Palmetto man has been charged with five counts of child molestation.
Palmetto police say Luis Morales-Alaffita inappropriately touched a child under the age of 10 on multiple occasions and forced the child to touch him in a sexual manner. Morales-Alaffita and the child are not related.
The victim told family members about the abuse, who in turn contacted law enforcement.
Morales-Alaffita committed the acts over a two-day period , according to court documents. He was arrested June 28.
Morales-Alaffita was booked into the Manatee County jail on the five felony charges and remains in custody on bonds totaling $250,000.
