Morning Call - 6/29/2020

An Allentown man who allegedly pushed a woman down a flight of stairs at a city apartment became violent with city police who came to arrest him Thursday evening, according to court records.

David Reynoso Jr., 23, of the 400 block of North Hall Street in Allentown, faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, institutional vandalism, resisting arrest, drug possession and harassment. He was sent to Lehigh County Jail under $50,000 bail.

According to court records:

Police responded at 8:40 p.m. Thursday to an apartment in the 100 block of North Seventh Street in Allentown for reports of domestic violence.

Investigators spoke to Diamond Williams, who told police that Reynoso attacked her. She said he punched and slapped her, hit her in the head with water jug and shoved her down a flight of eight stairs. Police saw multiple injuries on Williams’ face and shoulders.

When authorities tried to take Reynoso into custody, he resisted, kicking one of the officers in the groin and head-butting another in the chest. Reynoso also kicked and damaged the side panel of a city police car.

Police said they eventually placed Reynoso under arrest and found a bag of heroin and marijuana in his possession.
