Justin Bieber denies sexual assault allegations, threatens legal action — ’This story is factually impossible’

The New York Daily News - 6/22/2020

Justin Bieber fervently pushed back against claims that he sexually assaulted a woman in 2014, providing receipts and photos as his defense.

Over the weekend, an anonymous Twitter account identified only as “Danielle,” claimed the “Baby” singer assaulted her on March 9, 2014 after a surprise performance at a bar in Austin, Texas, during the SXSW festival.

“Danielle,” whose account has since been deleted, claimed that Bieber invited her and her friends back to his Four Seasons hotel.

On Sunday, Bieber pulled out the receipts -- literally -- to refute “Danielle’s” allegations after conversations with wife Hailey Baldwin and his team.

“Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly,” Bieber tweeted. “I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.”

The 26-year-old singer tweeted a series of old articles and receipts that showed he was in Austin with then-girlfriend Selena Gomez and had stayed with her at an Airbnb on March 9 and at a Westin hotel on March 10.

Bieber also said he’d spoken with the Four Seasons regional manager, who “confirmed” that he was not there on the date in question.

“Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed,” he tweeted. “However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with Twitter and authorities to take legal action.”
