San Simeon alleged murder attempt leads to arrest of Visalia man
Tribune - 6/21/2020
Jun. 20--A possible domestic violence report turned into an attempted murder investigation at a motel in San Simeon, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded, after a 9-1-1 call, to the Silver Surf Motel in the 9300 block of Castillo Drive for a possible domestic violence incident early Saturday, according to a Sheriff's Office media report.
At 12:30 a.m., deputies contacted a female, who said she had an argument with her boyfriend, Jerrod LaRue, 42, of Visalia. The female reported to deputies that LaRue struck her with his fist, according to the report, after which she retreated to a second-story balcony.
The female told deputies that LaRue then threatened to kill her and attempted to throw her over the balcony railing. The effort failed and she called for help.
LaRue was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
The investigation is continuing.
