Man, 67, accused of molesting young Pembroke Pines girl repeatedly over four years

South Florida Sun Sentinel - 6/20/2020

A 67-year-old Port St. Lucie man is accused of molesting a child repeatedly between 2008 and 2012 beginning when the girl was 5 years old.

Bienvenido Pujols surrendered to Pembroke Pines police Friday.

He is charged with sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation on a person less than 12 years of age, records show.

According to the arrest report, the girl told police that Pujols would show her adult pornography videos, remove her clothes, fondle her and expose himself. He told her not to tell anyone.

When she cried, Pujols said, “I don’t know why you’re crying. I know you like it,” the report stated.

The girl told her mother, in 2015, that Pujols had kissed her but she did not reveal the extent of the molestation. The girl did tell a friend last year and that’s when police got involved.

During police questioning, Pujols denied ever touching the girl other than to give her a bath.

Pujols is being held in the Broward County Jail without bond, records show.

Detectives are concerned there may be more victims who have not come forward so they are asking anyone with information about Pujols or other incidents to contact the Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2220.

Anonymous tips can be given to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
