Deputies: Man masturbating on Sunrail train charged with child abuse

A man seen masturbating on the Sunrail train by a teen on Monday faces a child abuse charge, Volusia County sheriff's deputies said.

Richard Davis, 48, of Inverness, was arrested and charged with principal to child abuse. He was in the Volusia County Branch Jail on Tuesday on $2,500 bail.

Deputies responded to DeBary around 7:20 a.m. on Monday where the conductor of the Sunrail train reported that a 16-year-old boy had alerted him to a man masturbating on the train. The man was identified as Davis, deputies said.

The conductor told deputies that when he, the teen and train security checked on Davis they found him still exposing himself, and when they asked him to stop he yelled "What" and continued performing the sexual act, a report said.

The teen told deputies he was conducting his normal duties on the train when he found Davis masturbating on the train, a report states.
