Special education students at West Shore School District compete at field day

With Area M Special Olympics events canceled for this year, the West Shore School District held its own special education department field day at the district’s West Shore Stadium in Lower Allen Township.

The games gave students a chance to show off their athletic skills in events such as the softball throw, 50 meter run and walk and the long jump.

There was also an Olympic village where competitors could cool down after competition with games, activities and face painting.

Students from Red Land and Cedar Cliff High Schools volunteered their time as buddies for the competitors on the playing field.
