Poster contest encourages inclusion during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Canton Repository - 3/3/2021

In celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, The Workshops Inc (TWI) is hosting a contest aimed at promoting inclusion of people with developmental disabilities within our community.

The nonprofit, regional service provider is seeking submissions of original, informative poster designs. Poster designs should relate to the theme "Together We Soar," and should show what can be achieved when we include people with developmental disabilities in all areas of our community.

The contest is open to all students up to age 19 in counties served by TWI, including Stark, Mahoning, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Portage.

Three grand-prize winners will be selected, with one from each of the following age categories: up to 8 years old, 9-13 years old, and 14-19 years old. Each grand-prize winner will receive a $100Visa gift card, and two tickets to a home Cleveland Indians game.

One ultimate grand-prize winner will have his or her original design featured on a billboard. The first 100 students to submit a poster will receive a T-shirt featuring a unique, inclusion-inspired design created by a person with developmental disabilities.

Entries are due April 5. Email submissions to marketing@choosetwi.com, or mail to TWi at 4065 Bradley Circle NW, Canton, OH 44718. All submissions must include student name, age, school, shirt size and a short description of the submission.

Winners will be announced on TWI social media channels April 16. For more informationi, visit choosetwi.com.
