Employee tests positives, another show symptoms of COVID-19 at Cumberland County nursing home

Patriot-News - 7/8/2020

Just one day after Cumberland County announced two more positive employee COVID-19 tests from a county nursing home, one employee tested positive and another is experiencing symptoms, the county said Wednesday.

Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has now had 8 employees test positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic the county said, and it is unclear if the employee experiencing symptoms will be tested.

All of the employees who have tested positive are either in isolation or have recovered, the county said. To date, no residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

The facility is continuing to work with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to conduct universal testing for the virus, the county said. The Health Department and Centers for Disease Control guidelines are still being following throughout the facility.

The county previously announced positive employee cases in April and in late June.
